For years, I have struggled with anxiety. I have made it a point to manage anxiety naturally where I can, but at times I have had to seek help from a medical professional. There is no shame in this, we all need different help at different times. If you are looking for anxiety relief, then read on for more information.
I wanted to first talk about how I manage my anxiety naturally and then go into some tips I use for anxiety relief.
4 Ways To Manage Anxiety Naturally
Supplements
Whether you are taking lavender oil capsules or a CBD blend, there are many supplements out there and I wanted to gloss over a few that I have used and found results with.
Lavender oil capsules I take daily, around 8 pm, before bed. This helps with a restful nights sleep. I am able to fall asleep without panic attacks waking me throughout the night. Lavender is very beneficial for calming and relaxing whilst tackling anxiety.
CBD Oil is becoming increasingly popular and has been widely available to manage anxiety. I started taking CBD Capsules and found that my general anxiety level was very low in comparison to using other supplements and herbs. I take a tablet form, but there is also liquid ones too.
There are other herbs you can consider like Valerian which is used in Kalms, a commonly used product to reduce anxiety. Passionflower capsules are another like Valerian that promotes relaxation. Then you have Bach Rescue Remedy Spray and Bach Rescue Remedy Pastilles which are also commonly used for anxiety. I’ve been using Bach Flower Remedies for many years now.
You can get to other such minerals like Magnesium which helps with bringing down stress and anxiety. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is great because it boosts serotonin production which reduces anxiety and gives you those feel-good hormones.
There are many to choose from when you want to manage anxiety naturally, check out what might work for you and speak with your consultant before you take anything, especially if you have conditions to do with blood like clots or thinning, also if you take any medications at all.
Exercise
Exercise is a good way to get the endorphins running around your body. Endorphins are a chemical we release that helps relieve stress and pain. Quite similar to opioids, but it will give you a gentle lift and a great way to make you feel happier.
You can try yoga if you are unable to exercise too much due to disabilities or chronic illnesses. This is a good way to stretch out, make you think about something other than what is happening around you and let you relax.
Reduce Stress
You want to reduce stress as stress is the main reason people suffer from anxiety, or their anxiety worsens when under copious amounts of stress.
Thinking about ways to manage your stress and reduce it will really benefit your anxiety and health in the long run. You want to be aiming to surround yourself with positive vibes, a calm and relaxing atmosphere and allowing yourself to bring your heart rate and blood pressure down.
There are many things you can do to reduce your stress, such as adult colouring, Aromatherapy or watching something you enjoy.
When I am feeling anxious, I tend to get stuck into a film or TV series, recently I started watching loads on Disney+ as they have many fantastic series to offer for adults. Even going back to my childhood and watching old films and cartoons.
Eliminating what you can out of your life that is causing stress as well as tackling anything that needs resolving. If you are in a tricky situation and it is causing stress, find ways to overcome it and beat it. Even if it is money related, there are many ways to make money such as looking into how to become a sex text operator or even looking into becoming a phone sex operator.
Mindfulness
Under the Mindfulness umbrella, you have a lot of ways you can manage your stress which we briefly touched upon above.
Adult colouring for example is a great way to reduce your stress and distract your mind from the pressing issue causing your anxiety. It’s also a good way to being your heart rate down and relax in a position you are comfortable and able to focus on colouring.
Meditation is something that not everyone can do, especially a guided meditation.
If you have Aphantasia and unable to visualise anything, you want to consider something where you are more focused on breathing over picturing things in your mind.
Breathing techniques are fantastic to manage anxiety naturally, it regulates your breathing, focusing on your breathing. Brings down your stress levels, heart rate and blood pressure and gets you into a calmer rhythm.
